Being an artist who predominantly paints pets means I get to see some truly gorgeous animals with some utterly fabulous names. Noodle ticks both these boxes. The lady who commissioned him refers to Noodle as her Grandcat (which I am fully on board with!) and she gifted the artwork to her son for his birthday. She was so excited when she saw the painting in the flesh that she gave her son his present two weeks early!
Sending picture updates is a good way for me to showcase the painting as it progresses but photos have limitations. You don’t get to see and appreciate all the true colours, tonal changes, textures, details and the scale of the art in a photo. This is why it’s so important to view art in life and in galleries and not just in books and via a phone/computer screen.
Feedback and reviews are also really valuable to me as a small business owner. This client messaged me to say, “…I know (her son’s name) will absolutely love it, love it, love it. I cannot wait to see his face….I am so giddy I don’t think I can hang on another month. Thank you soooo much for this outstanding personalised gift for my son…”. Such a lovely message; it makes me so happy that I can use my artistic skills to make other people happy.
