Well I can’t quite believe it…exactly one year ago today that the UK began a national lockdown due to the pandemic. All my Facebook memories are about this, it’s really sad to reflect on all the loss and hardship the last 12 months have brought for so many people. There was a minute of silence at 12 to remember those who have lost their lives, and there is an 8pm doorstep memorial today.
This all makes me think of Spring and new life, and most importantly of hope. The bulbs are shooting up into beautiful flowers, lambs are appearing in the fields and the warmer weather is returning. I’m producing quite a lot of ‘cheerful’ paintings at the moment based on baby animals and rainbows, aimed at children. They’re for sale via my Etsy shop (LindaRodgersArt) if you’re interested.
So at the moment alongside my normal workload concerning pet commissions, I’m producing lots of artworks that fulfil my own creative drive. And I’m feeling incredibly hopeful that I can resume my adult art classes at the end of the Summer. Onwards and upwards! Stay safe.
