S is for Summer Hols

Schools have broken up for Summer and the sun continues to shine! I’ve just returned from a glorious week in Devon and am on a major ‘go slow’ after resting and relaxing on the stunning beaches! I highly recommend visiting the South West of England, it is absolutely stunning down there. I then eased myself back into work last week with a small greyscale commission of a male. The original image is from an old passport photo (I daren’t even estimate the decade in case I’m way off and offend the client!!). It was lovely to use pencil for a change even though unintentional smudging was an issue with the heat.

This week, I’m painting a dog. He’s a lovely brown and white spaniel. The weather is due to cool over the week and this will be more than welcome! I’m also looking forward to #drawingaugust2021. I’ve opened this up to commissions this year as it can be tricky to find inspiration for 31 drawings. I also can’t believe it’s nearly August! I thought time flew when I was a Teacher, mainly as your life revolves around the school terms, and you end up crossing off the weeks and days on your school calendar to get to the holidays!

For now, back to the drawing board for me. I hope you are enjoying life whether at work or on holiday! Linda.
