It’s been a strange week for me on both a personal level and with the Coronavirus impacting the UK population on a growing basis. It’s incredibly difficult not to constantly worry about the older members of my family, especially those with underlying health conditions and my beautiful nephew who has respiratory compromises due to his DS. There’s also the worry of being self-employed and surviving financially during a health crisis but I’m just one of many in that category. Keep calm and carry on…that famous slogan ringing through my head. And drink many, many cups of tea (always the answer to stress and worry)!
On a personal level, my lovely dog broke her toe this week so Monday was trips backwards and forwards to the vets for an x-ray under sedation. We are now on 4-6 weeks of lead walks and rest (did I mention she’s a 3 year old working lab?!) so a big change in both our routines.
On a professional level, I have had the sheer pleasure of painting the most beautiful pair of cats this week. Merlin is a Himalayan Persian with the most striking blue eyes and Mia is a Maine Coon with such an expressive face! These beauties are the first pair of cats I’ve done, if you look in my Pet Portrait Gallery you’ll see the vast majority of images are of dogs. A change is as good as a rest for a creative soul like myself and it has really cheered me up to work on something different. I very much hope cat-owners will get in touch and commission me to capture their feline friends!
Have a good weekend.
