A is for Artist

So, I’m an Artist! You know this right?! But what does my job actually entail…how do I spend my days?

For the curious:
I draw and paint for most of the day;
I communicate with clients via phone, email and social media;
I update my social media and now website (!);
I design compositions with Photoshop;
I plan my teaching sessions and organise resources;
I purchase art materials (mainly online but also at art shops);
I fill in spreadsheets, print invoices and keep records of my receipts (yawn);
I package and post artworks.

Before I left teaching to pursue my dream of working as a full-time artist, I thought I’d only do the drawing and painting part, the business side escaped my attention!!

Anyway most importantly, I walk my beautiful loopy yellow lab Lexi either side of my working day to keep my neck and back from seizing up with an otherwise sedentary job.
