Happy New Year everyone! 2026 is the Year of the Horse. Yesterday, I sat and set myself the challenge of painting a ‘snow pony’ within a time limit of 2 hours. I allowed myself 6 acrylic paints: mixing white, process yellow, process cyan, process magenta, Hooker’s green and Payne’s grey – no black! I would like to focus on more expressive strokes and quicker mark-making in my painting style. I need to consider values more too. I had a bizarre moment when I considered only painting horses and ponies for a year! We shall see what this year brings. Best wishes, Linda xxx
